Hard to imagine
in one so uncertain
that greatness comes without warning.
I amaze me
from A
to Z
My thoughts find me one night
talking to my other self,
the me that I’ve never met.
And yet,
in the darkness…
I find myself
A mirrored metaphor
sharing myself
unrestrained conversations
I’m finally unafraid to be me.
Shadows of
the same soul
cast from one light.
Amazing that
the true me is so unaware
of what I can be
because the world sees
the mist-tinged shadow
of the restrained me
the enchanting me
the amusing me
with words spoken in beauty,
but never the true me
the amazing me
with life events shared in confidence.
How am I unaware
delectably unsure of myself,
knowing,
that one day
greatness comes without warning.
And like a summer breeze,
I will cast myself
arms flung wide
accepting the delight.
